19 September 2013 4th Hour Advanced Technology Warmup

The newton (symbol: N) is the International System of Units (SI) derived unit of force. It is named after Isaac Newton in recognition of his work on classical mechanics, specifically Newton's second law of motion.

To will investigate the connection between weight, mass, the size of a planet, and gravitational force.

We will complete the experiment together.

If you do not have a username or password I will demonstrate how to complete an account to the whole class.  You should have created an account when we reviewed usernames and passwords.  When we have completed the experiment together answer the questions, "Why would you weight less on Mars?"

    Weight on mars

You would weigh less on Mars because of the gravity pull. Lets say you weigh 100 lbs. on Earth, on Mars you would only weigh 37.7 lbs. When there is more gravity pull you weigh less, when there is less gravity pull you weigh more.
