19 March 2013 3rd Hour Technology Warmup

Follow the link and read the attached article.

Hacker Sentenced to Over 3 Years

In three complete sentences, tell me what you think about the sentence.  Is it fair?  Is it too harsh?  Is it too lenient?  Clearly state your opinion and then support your opinion based on information provided in the article.

When you have completed your warmup go to Typing Web.

Typing Tutor

You will need to complete two typing units; Home Row Keys and Top Row Keys.  Continue to work on typing until you have completed the two units or until I instruct you otherwise.  When you have completed your typing assignment you need to work on your Website project.

If you were absent yesterday, you must make up yesterday's assignment.  You will not be excused from this assignment.  You can talk to a classmate or me to find out what you need to do to complete your Outline Prospectus.  If you did not complete the assignment yesterday, complete it today.  You will not receive participation points until you have completed the assignment.

I think it was a little too harsh. He was invading personal space so he deserves some time. I don't think that much time though.

I think that the hacker should be in jail longer then just 3 years. The hacker should surve 9 years in prison, for invading peoples privace.

I think that it is way to long to be in jail for what happened. i think that 6 mouths is enough.
This crime is not very serious.

I think the hacker's sentence was too harsh. Three years for being a hacker?? It would teach him to never hack again. But he would be all old by the time he got out.

I think this is fair. In the first place he shouldn't be hacking at&t. He deserves what he got.

I think that Andrew Auernheimer "Weev"'s sentence was very reasonable and fair. He hacked into something he wasn't supposed to be in. He deserves the punishment and fine that he has gotten.

I think that the punishment is very reasonable. But,after he gets out of prison i think he should still be being watched because he could easily do it again. if i was a victim of his crime i would be very mad.

I think he spent a lot of time in prison for just hacking an AT&T server. He had to pay a lot of money for it to. I think he spent to much time in prison and had to pay to much money.

I think it is fair that he got so much jail time since he got thousands of e-mails of users. He could have done something to hack into another system. Since AT&T is a big company too, it is a larger deal since they make so much money from the electronics they sell

I think that was a little to harsh. A little to long. I mean a year should be the most. This isnt very serious.

I think it is harsh because even though he stole emails he shouldn't have to spent that long in prison. He deserves some time in jail or prison. He needs to learn his lesson.

Our government has better things to do than bust hackers. They shouldn't have been that harsh. He deserves a punishment but something a little less harsh.

I think that the hackers sentence was not fair.
    It was to harsh.
But if he does do some time then maybe it will teach him something, but at the same time in the video he is pretty much saying that he will do it again.

I think that the hacker should only go for about 8 to 9 months. But he is invading somebodys personal stuff. Also he is not that well of a hacker.

I think it was too lenient. He should be sentenced to more than three years. He was invading a lot of people's personal space.

i think it was kinda harsh making him serve 3 years in prison he should have only had about a year in prison because the thing that he did wasnt really that bad to be with murderer and worst crimminals

i think Weev deserves sometime in jail. He doesn't need to be in jail as much as they are. He would still get what he deserves.
