    The Project:
Video and film is a hobby of mine, and while I'm not a shoe-fetishist, I am a big fan of Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star High-tops (black, thank you very much). I was searching for a weekend video project, and an homage to these awesome shoes seemed like a good place to start: short and sweet. However, knowing that my video project time is limited, I at least wanted to get the idea fleshed out on a storyboard, so that when the time came, it would be ready to roll.

    The Design:
The idea hit me while listening to Bad Dog, No Biscuits by Yoko Kanno and The Seat Belts. The music conjured up images of a James Bond style adventure chase. As I listened, idea of doing a video with Chuck Taylor High-Tops as the hero played through my head. The idea was that a pair of Chucks can out-run, out-wit and out-play a pair of sensible shoes any day. "You Just Can't Beat a Pair of Chucks". I had to capture the idea, so I sketched out these story boards for a short video.

    The Result:
While I still haven't yet found time to produce the video (my wife and I recently had our first child, and she's my new hobby, at least for the moment), I keep coming back to these story boards and threatening to realize them in motion, maybe as a Flash animation?
