Out Sick :-( Instructions for Today, Technology, Art, and GATE

I am sorry that I am out today.  I know that a few of you noticed that I wasn't feeling well yesterday and it didn't get better when I got home.  Please follow the provided instructions while I am gone and we will get back on schedule Monday.  Please behave for the substitute and have a wonderful
weekend.

Access Hour:

You have two online tasks to complete:

  1. Check Power School and your grades.
  2. Use a search engine to explore jobs that you are interested in having as an adult.

Technology:

First, if you have not completed your Prezi that is your main priority today.  You have been given some extra time to make sure that you have all components of the assignment.  With the extra time, I expect that all students will the Prezi 100% complete on Monday.  We will turn the Prezis in and begin presentations as soon as class starts on Monday.

I want you to first review the Smokey Bear website.  There are games and facts that are interesting and a lot to navigate.

Next, you will play a game that gives you the opportunity to stop a wildfire.  When you start this game you will have the option to choose different scenarios.  Please make sure you choose wildfire.  I would like you to complete the game at least twice before choosing another scenario.

If you complete all of these tasks and do not wish to continue to play the game you may read quietly or work on homework.

Art:

You will be exploring a few online tools that will give you more information about the artworks you are currently working on.  Please try all of them in the order I have linked them.  You may then choose one that you prefer and work on making digital art.

Mask Maker:

Then choose play with art and mask maker.  Try different combinations to see what types of masks that will be created.

Collage:

One thing that you might miss on this program is all of the different things you can add to your collage.  Make sure that scroll through all the items you can add.  Hitting random gives you items that you can move around and create a design with without choosing your own items.

Brushter:

Use Brushter to experiment with the colors you will be using on your artwork.

Picasso Head:

This tool will allow you to complete another type of portrait.  Try to think about what shapes would represent you.

Wordle:

Type a list of words that describe your current artwork in the text box and then hit go.

GATE:

Please complete your speech.  We will begin giving our speeches at the beginning of class Monday.  Your speech must be 2 minutes and 30 seconds.  When you finish writing your speech practice it to make sure it is the correct length.  If another student is done you can work together to give each other feedback.

I think that there will be robots that talk in the future. The robot will talk because we are starting to learn and event new things. Also my role is that we all can help by help them get money. If they develop talking robots they can help by reading to little kids.Robots can teach humans how to read better. The robots can keep us company. They can make us more intelligent. That`s what I would like about the robots.
